Singing sensation Madonna make her directorial debut with Filth and Wisdom. It is a tale of three roommates rocker-dominatrix A. K. (Eugene Hutz), ballet dancer-stripper Holly (Holly Weston) and pharmacist Juliette (Vicky McClure), all chasing their dreams in contemporary London. While dreaming of fame and success all three are forced to employ sleazy tactics to reach their goals. A. K. supports his band Gogol Bordello, who he knows will go gold some day, by walking the streets as a cross dresser. Holly dreams of being a famous ballerina who pays the bills working as a stripper. Juliette is determined to save the youth of Africa by stealing medicine from her pharmaceutical job. Filth and Wisdom portrays the real life struggles even people with the biggest dreams can face, without every truly confronting their own dreams.
